A little bit of Sunshine

Today at work, I poured coffee for a man who said to me... "thank you, Sunshine". Of course, I responed with a polite "Your welcome", but in my mind, first, I cringed a little, and then I laughed because I remembered when Gary called Jen Sunshine. And now she will always be remembered as Sunshine Jenny (from the block). Ha! Someone else called me "Sweetie", but that was only creepy, not funny at all. Sunshine was funny.

Its a good thing

Here are some good fun things that are true.
1. I finished all my work on Thursday, so... three day weekend for me!
2. I bought a new CD, and I absolutely love it.
3. John-Mark and I are going to see an improv group tomight. We saw them at Breakforth, and they are super funny.
4. It is sunny outside.
5. My room is clean and all my laundry is done
6. I got emails from two of my good friends yesterday. It made me miss them more, but I was so excited to hear from them.
7. I bought plane tickets to Calgary... to see Sam, and to go to Welcome Back weekend.
8. I talked to Craig Carmichael, and he was really helpful. I feel good about what step to take next.

So, I know that I said that my blog isnt really a serious thing, but I needed to sort my thoughts.

Okay.
I know that I love photography.
I have been told that I am gifted and talented in this area.
I would love my life if I could take pictures for a living.
I have no idea how to get there, and all the research I have done hasn't made it any clearer.
I emailed a bunch of photographers yesterday.
I wanted to know how they got to where they are, and if they had any suggestions for me.
I got a response from Craig Carmichael. He told me to give him a call.
I called him this afternoon. He wants to get together and talk. Probably on Wednesday.
I should be super excited
I am scared out of my mind.

I think its because Im afraid that Im not good enough, and if I fail at what I love the most, then what do I have? I know I would be happy as a photographer. That is not an issue. In fact, I dont think I would ever be completey satisfied if I did anything else. I suppose I need to just step out and do it, and trust that God is big enough to fulfill his promises. After all, He is the one who creates us with passions and gifts, and He doesn't want us to fail.

"There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off."

Created to photograph?

Here are some things I have learned in the real world thus far:
1. Working every day is more tiring than expected
2. The Swiffer duster is the greatest invention since the vacumn.
3. How to recognise a counterfeit 10 dollar bill
4. Deciding what to do with your life is hard... and scary
5. When thinking about the future, it is somehow harder to think about pursuing something you are passionate about, and that God has told you to pursue, than to think about doing something else.

An anniversary of sorts?

Today, on my way home from work, I stopped at Shoppers.... to buy nail polish. I know what you are thinking, and Im not really sure what made me want some either, but I was overcome by the urge to colour my nails some pretty pinkish-brownish colour. So now I have pretty fingers. And I suppose it is a celebration of four whole months bite-free after twenty whole years of chewing. Yay for me!

PS My Mom is going to Bingo tonight. Kenny Hess anyone??
